Liberated Arts Foundation Presents:
The Sole of the Community
Liberated Arts Foundation invites artists to submit work for our upcoming exhibition, The "Sole" of the Community, an exhibition presented in conjunction with the Liberated Flow Charity Art Gala and Sneaker Ball.
We are seeking artwork that interprets community broadly and personally.
Artists are not required to depict shoes, sneakers, or feet literally. “Sole” is a conceptual entry point, not a visual requirement. We encourage thoughtful, unexpected, and deeply personal interpretations of the theme.
Your work might celebrate the community you know. It might examine where community has fractured. It might honor someone who has poured their heart and soul into others. It might invite viewers to see life from another person's perspective. Or it might imagine the community we have yet to build.
This exhibition is both a celebration and an invitation.
Come as an artist.
Tell us where you've walked.
Show us what you've witnessed.
Help us remember what connects us.
Because community doesn't happen simply because we live beside one another. We have to choose it.
It starts in the sole.
It lives in the soul.
Submission deadline Friday, September 25, 2026.
Guidelines
Up to two (2) works of art may be submitted per artist.
Only original artwork may be submitted.
Art of all mediums are welcomed.
Art should not exceed 30"x40" except pottery which is limited to 18" H x 12" W.
Accepted art must be dropped off to Richmond, VA at the end of November. Additional details will be provided to accepted artists.
Art will be displayed during the art gala on Saturday, December 5, 2026. After the event, the exhibition will move to the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia December 7, 2026 - January 24, 2027.
It is best practice and recommended for artists to insure (their) work accepted into the exhibition.
Any sold work is subject to a 50 percent commission.
